I hold a Master's degree in Economics, specialising in Money and Finance (Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana), and have over 15 years of experience in banking, corporate financing, credit analysis, factoring, and risk management. In writing FinPortal.si's content, I combine academic knowledge, years of experience in the financial sector, and a practical view of personal finance.
My path in finance
I started my career at a bank in risk management, then continued at a factoring company and later at another bank, where I worked in both corporate banking and risk management. I then spent several years as a senior analyst at a bank, where for several years I directly assessed companies' investment projects - evaluating their returns, risks, and financing rationale - alongside companies of all sizes and credit risk more broadly. That experience is also what I draw on for FinPortal.si's content on investing and ETF funds. I then worked at a factoring company as a Risk Manager - analysing companies, making credit decisions, assessing business partners, and managing financial risk. Today I work as a Factoring Analysis Specialist.
Alongside my regular job, I hold and have held several board and supervisory positions in companies over the years. Between 2008 and 2018 I was a board member and later chairman of the board of Slosys d.d. I was a board member of Marles d.d., later becoming deputy chairman, and I also served as a board member of Velo Nepremičnine d.d. Since 2022 I've served as a supervisory board member of LP Invest d.d., which among other things is active in investment and holding management. These supervisory roles - including at companies with investment/holding activities - give me a broader view of corporate governance, investment decisions, and financial planning, which also feeds into content aimed at both individuals and businesses.
Why I founded FinPortal.si
FinPortal.si grew out of a simple but important need: as a user of financial services myself, I wanted clear, transparent and fair information. In a market where offers are often complex, terms are hidden, and comparisons are scattered across different providers, I missed a tool that would give an objective view of the actual costs and benefits of individual financial products. So I built a platform grounded in transparency, data, and user experience - my goal is to help people make better financial decisions, free from sales pressure or marketing tricks. FinPortal.si has grown from a personal need into a project that today helps a wide range of users, from individuals to companies.
My vision
My vision is for FinPortal.si to become the central Slovenian digital point for comparing financial products - from loans, deposits, leasing and factoring to insurance and other financial services. I want to create an environment where information is reliable, independent, up-to-date, and easy to understand.
I believe that with data-driven tools, advanced calculators and clear explanations, I can reduce the complexity of the financial world and bring it closer to every user. My long-term goal is for FinPortal.si to become the leading comparison platform in Slovenia - both for individuals looking for the best terms for their first loan or savings, and for companies that need clear information for strategic financial decisions. I want to grow FinPortal.si into a place where every user gets a transparent view, real calculations, and impartial information that lets them choose the best solution for themselves.
